Wide variances in the utilization of drugs and healthcare resources merit an intensified care management approach that identifies the most significant cost-saving opportunities for a health plan population.

Our extensive experience and clinical expertise have enabled us to develop proprietary, proven therapy management programs designed specifically for these high cost and highly complex biotherapies. Our EyeOn programs create proven cost savings through careful risk assessment and management, and appropriate utilization management techniques unique to CoramRx.

Monitoring and promoting patient compliance and drug therapy adherence has been a primary component of the CoramRx specialty service model since its inception, and is detailed extensively in Coram's protocols and standards of practice. Based on the premise that the diseases traditionally treated in the specialty pharmacy arena become more severe and/or more likely to relapse without adequate monitoring, CoramRx developed a prospective model of patient clinical monitoring and data collection. The information contained in this report is obtained directly from the patient during each refill and responses are data entered into the CoramRx outcomes data base. The pharmacy staff follows a standardized computerized protocol to record response to therapy, the presence of drug related problems, compliance and hospitalizations.

Although there are disease state specific protocols, all patients receiving therapy from CoramRx, regardless of disease state, are monitored on each refill for compliance, drug effectiveness, adverse drug events and hospitalization.
